2002: Steve Kinser led every lap to secure his 12th and last Nationals triumph.

2003: Lasoski passed Schatz on lap seven and won the race for the third time.

2004: Lasoski made it back-to-back victories after passing longtime rival Terry McCarl on lap 16.

2005: In another rain-delayed Sunday night feature, Kraig Kinser led every lap to become the first second-generation winner. He earned $140,000 aboard the Steve Kinser Racing No. 11k machine.

2006: After finishing second four times, Schatz finally got the monkey off his back, claiming the first of 10 Knoxville Nationals victories.

2007: Schatz was the first $150,000 winner, holding off McCarl’s late-race charge.

2008: Schatz used a late-race restart to pass Jason Meyers and win for the third consecutive year.

2009: Schatz made it four victories in a row as the race was extended to 40 laps for the first time.

2010: Tim Shaffer was a surprise winner of the 50th annual Nationals after passing Schatz with two laps remaining.

2011: The Schatz victory train got back on track with a fifth win in six years.
