While his brother, Bobby, attempt and struggled in two Indianapolis 500 appearances, Donnie Allison starred. The 10-time NASCAR Cup Series winner drove a Foyt-Greer Racing Eagle with Ford power to a fourth-place finish in 1970, earning the Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year Award. He returned the followed year and finished sixth in a Coyote-Ford again fielded by Foyt-Greer Racing.
