It was a year that saw race track promoters and sanctioning body management put to the test, and we appreciate the efforts by all who found clever and creative ways to hold safe and exciting sprint car, midget and Silver Crown events.

ALL STAR CIRCUIT OF CHAMPIONS
Aaron Reutzel earned his third consecutive Ollie‘s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions title.

Reutzel drove the Baughman-Reutzel Motorsports No. 87 to nine wins, including two of the four opening events in Florida and the season-finale Jim & Joanne Ford Classic at Ohio‘s Fremont Speedway.
However, while only competing in 23 of the series‘ 44 events, Kyle Larson led the series in wins, with 13.
Cory Eliason and Cap Henry each earned three wins for the season, while Danny Dietrich, Rico Abreu, Lance Dewease were also multiple feature winners, with two apiece.
Zeb Wise earned the Rookie of the Year honors driving for Sam McGhee Motorsports, but announced that he was leaving the team at the conclusion of the season.
AMERICAN SPRINT CAR SERIES (ASCS) NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
A win on night one of the two-day Devil‘s Bowl Winternationals secured a fifth consecutive Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network championship for Sam Hafertepe Jr.

In doing so, Hafertepe tied the late Jason Johnson as only the second racer to win five titles with the series (Gary Wright and Terry Gray have each earned four).
The Sunnyvale, Texas racer earned eight features with the ASCS National Tour this year, including the Short Track Nationals finale at Little Rock, Arkansas‘ I-30 Speedway and his third Hockett/McMillin Memorial victory at Lucas Oil Speedway.
Point runner-up Roger Crockett took the win in the season finale. Although it was his only feature victory of the season, the win extended his winning streak to 25 consecutive years, dating back to his second season in a sprint car (1996).
Pennsylvania‘s Mark Smith scored two wins at Lucas Oil Speedway, making him the only other driver to score multiple victories. J.J. Hickle topped the ASCS Sprint Week points.
Dylan Westbrook was the series‘ Rookie of the Year.

ASCS DESERT NON-WING SPRINT CAR SERIES
Ryan Murphy, of Tucson, Arizona finished in the top 10 in eight of the nine features contested to win the ASCS Desert Non-Wing Sprint Car Series title.
Stevie Sussex and Sterling Cling topped the win-list with three apiece and were also the only drivers to earn multiple feature wins.
