When Owen was asked if he thought providing an adequate car count for events at Michigan tracks would be an issue, he indicated building the series outside of its central Indiana base will be a work in progress.

“I think it‘s going to take time. We‘re going to take a little better purse than what the guys have ran for in the past,” Owen noted. “Our standard purse is $4,000 to win and $500 to start. We have a couple things we‘re working on as far as bonuses are concerned. It‘s not going to happen overnight. If we ca get 16 to 20 cars, especially at Berlin, that‘s a great place to start.”
The series will offer other incentives. Lucas Oil Raceway will feature $5,000 to win races and all races in the series will be streamed live. It is anticipated select events will be televised on MAVTV.
Among the drivers committed to the 500 Sprint Car Tour are Little 500 winners Tyler Roahrig and Bobby Santos III, Shane Butler, Davey Hamilton Jr., Billy Wease and Kyle O‘Gara.
It would certainly appear the new 500 Sprint Car Tour could buck the trend of Midwest non-winged pavement sprint car series failing.
The 500 Sprint Car Tour certainly has all the tools and knowledge to be successful for a very long time.
