Veteran Dave Darland inscribed another chapter into the USAC 4-Crown Nationals history book with his K&N Silver Crown series victory at Eldora Speedway on Sept. 26, 2009.
It was Darland’s 11th 4-Crown triumph, second to only Jack Hewitt (with 19), and 73rd victory of his USAC career. Shane Hmiel and Jerry Coons, Jr. finished a quarter-lap behind Darland.
Coons won the sprint car feature and Brad Sweet topped the midget main event.
