CRANDON, Wis. — Ultra4 USA officials have confirmed the death of racer Zandy Willems following an incident during Saturday’s program at Crandon Int’l Raceway.
Ultra4 USA owner Jason Robinett issued a statement on the organization’s Facebook page.
“The sun came up and reality set in on the tragic events that unfolded yesterday evening. By now most have heard Zandy Willems has passed doing exactly what he loved. There simply are no words to express the sorrow and pain his friends and family and myself are going through,” Robinett said in the statement.
Willems was a veteran off-road racer and operated the Rufus Racing team.
