The fourth round of the Ultra4 USA season is at hand, marking the halfway point of the eight-round off-road championship.
Ultra4 USA’s signature event, Visions Off-Road, will take place at the MidAmerica Outdoors facility in Jay, Okla., on June 14-18. The weeklong festivities will involve premier Ultra4 USA competition, the MAO Racing SXS Championship Series and Travis Pastrana’s Nitrocross — formerly known as Nitro Rallycross.
Action will kick off on Wednesday, June 14, with the first MAO Racing SXS Championship Series race in the morning, as well as qualifying for the Ultra4 classes in the afternoon. The 8.5-mile Ultra4 course will feature diverse terrain, including woods, creeks, rocks and high-speed sections.
The second SXS contest is set for the following morning at the MAO short-course track. Later on Thursday afternoon, the first Ultra4 races will be held for the 4900 UTV and 4600 stock classes. The race format will include a 1.5-hour time limit on course.
The Ultra4 USA Youth class will race on Friday morning, with the prestigious 4400 Unlimited class main event taking place later in the afternoon. The 4400 drivers will race for two hours, plus one lap.
Cody Addington was the most recent winner in the 4400 Unlimited class, with Bailey Campbell and Phillip McGilton completing the podium at the Big Sky 200 in Broadview, Mont., on May 21.
The final MAO Racing SXS Championship Series professional classes main races are scheduled for Friday evening to wrap up the short-course action.
And finally, Saturday’s headliner will be Nitrocross.
The visit to Oklahoma marks the inaugural race of the series’ 10-round calendar. The Nitrocross track will feature 150-foot elevation changes, tight “S” turns and several significant jumps. In addition to Pastrana, past Nitrocross racers include Brian Deegan, Robin Shute, Robbie Maddison, B.J. Baldwin and Amanda Sorensen.
Nitrocross racing will take place through the day on Saturday, while the main Nitro Circus event will conclude the weeklong festivities that night.
