Mia Chapman To Make Nitrocross Debut at Richmond

Professional off-road racer and Red Bull athlete Mia Chapman will kick off her inaugural Nitrocross campaign this weekend at Richmond (Va.) Raceway, taking part in the series’ SXS class in the No. 37 Red Bull Can-Am.

The 2023 Red Bull Scramble Series champion will look to adapt her skill set to rallycross for the first time, bringing her off-road background to one of NASCAR’s most iconic tracks and a mixed-surface layout that will put her wheel to wheel with some of the biggest names in the sport.

“I’m so excited to run my first Nitrocross SXS season this year!” said Chapman. “The series has grown so quickly over the last few years, and now is for sure the right time to make the switch and get involved. The racing is a lot more full contact and wheel-to-wheel than a lot of what I’ve done before, but I’m confident that I can adapt quickly and that we can bring home some hardware this season.”

Chapman’s move to Nitrocross comes as the series establishes an exciting new schedule for the 2024-’25 season, running coast-to-coast with five unique events.

Alongside Richmond, the series returns to staple venues in Utah and Arizona before bringing off-road racing downtown in Miami and Las Vegas at the turn of the new year. After years of running everything from the biggest desert races in America to the remote locations of the Scramble Series, an eclectic set of venues is nothing new for Chapman, who raced from the beaches of New Jersey to the mountains of Alaska to earn her 2023 title.
