ENSENADA, Mexico — Mexico’s Baja California peninsula will again host the four-race SCORE World Desert Championship next season.
Featuring all four races in Baja California, Mexico, for the seventh time in history, race coverage will air domestically as well as being syndicated internationally.
While the season-opener will once again be in San Felipe, the other three events on the calendar are scheduled to start and finish in Ensenada.
The SCORE San Felipe 250 will be held March 29-April 3 and will be followed by the BFGoodrich Tires 54th SCORE Baja 500, presented by 4 Wheel Parts, on June 1-5 in Ensenada. The season-ending BFGoodrich Tires 55th SCORE Baja 1,000, presented by 4Wheel Parts, will be held Nov. 15-20 in Ensenada.
After being postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the third SCORE Baja 400, the newest event on the SCORE World Desert Championship schedule, will be held Sept. 13-18 in Baja California.
“SCORE continues to build the operational and marketing assets of the SCORE World Desert Championship and our 2022 schedule will include the SCORE Baja Triple Crown races along with our newest race — the SCORE Baja 400,” said Jose A. Grijalva, President/Race Director of SCORE Int’l. “Mexican races are the cornerstone of SCORE and to have all four races south of the border for the seventh consecutive season and seventh time in SCORE’s long history is a distinct honor and a wonderful privilege. We welcome the challenge to continue to add to the illustrious SCORE Baja racing legacy. And to finish the season with the iconic SCORE Baja 1000 always attracts racing extremists from around the world.”
