Crandon Releases Upcoming Schedule

CRANDON, Wis. — After posting another historic season defined by record crowds, racers and corporate partnerships, Crandon Int’l Raceway released official event and reservation dates for its upcoming season.

Named facility of the year exactly one year ago at the Performance Racing Industry show, Crandon hosted more than 85,000 guests at its two massive off-road races this year — a season that including a KISS “End of the Road” tour concert at the Labor Day weekend Polaris Crandon World Championships.

Event attendance records were set at both June’s 30th anniversary Forest County Potawatomi Brush Run and September’s Polaris Crandon World Championships and Red Bud World Cup Sunday.

The new schedule also reflects a reunification with the Minnesota-based Championship Off-Road series after operations of a newly-formed national Pro short course series unexpectedly ceased operation a few short weeks ago.

Crandon Int’l has signed a new, three-year contract with the Championship Off-Road Series to exclusively bring short-course off-road racing to the facility known by fans as the “Big House.”

An Overview

The Crandon schedule will kickoff with the 31st Forest County Potawatomi Brush Run races, taking place June 21-23.

The popular weekend will feature practice and qualifying sessions, as well as two full rounds of racing for all Pro and Sportsman categories that make up the AMSOIL Champ Off-Road series presented by Air Force.

Race fans can expect large and highly competitive fields of truck, buggy and SxS classes, including the spectacular Pro 4 and Pro 2 unlimited trucks. The weekend concludes on Sunday afternoon with the prestigious Crandon Forest County Potawatomi Community Cup race, an all-out competition for  Pro 2 and Pro 4 racers on the track at the same time with a time staggered start.

The annual Polaris Crandon World Championships arrives on Labor Day weekend. Next year’s 55th running of the sport’s biggest and best off-road race returns for a four-day schedule of on-track competition, concerts, camping and more from August 29-Sept. 1.

Comprised of 2,300 sites, the massive Camp Crandon is expected to be sold out early again this year.

A record event crowd of just under 60,000 people enjoyed more than 425 teams from across America competing in more than 50 races spread over four days and nights. The massive race weekend is the largest, oldest and most prestigious short-course off-road race in the world, and includes a complete schedule of Pro and Sportman AMSOIL Champ Off-Road series racers going all-out to win both season championships and Crandon World Champion title and rings for all classes.

Also confirmed for the fourth consecutive year will be the Crandon Class 11 World Championships, a fan-favorite featuring nearly stock vintage Volkswagen Beetles.

Capping off the weekend on Sept. 1 will be the Ninth Annual Red Bull World Cup, with the sport’s best Pro drivers earning coveted Crandon World Championship titles in a variety of classes. The world championship weekend ends with the largest prize — the annual Red Bull Cup race finale.

This year, local favorite Keegan Kincaid took home the Red Bull Cup with a Ford Pro 2 unlimited truck, along with a Crandon “Top Gun” engraved Henry rifle.
