JAY, Okla. — On Thursday afternoon, the 4900 UTV and 4600 Stock classes contested the fourth round of their Ultra4 USA season on site at MidAmerica Outdoors.
Todd Beckett conquered the wooded loop in his No. 101 entry, topping the 4900 UTV Pro Mod division. Kory Willis finished second, while Kyle Chaney — who has won the opening three Ultra4 USA events — ended his hot streak with a third-place finish.
Jason Wofford took the lead in the 4900 UTV Stock class, battling against Byron Starratt’s No. 9004 entry to maintain his position out front. Mitchell Rocchiccioli finished third. Meanwhile, in the 4900 UTV Open class, Ian Dickie, Phillip Poe and Cody Quattlebaum completed the podium.
The 4600 Stock race was one of attrition, as only four of 11 entries finished the race.
But a surprise driver collected the 4600 trophy at the day’s end, as Sergio Pinillos beat Ford Bronco drivers Loren Healy and John Rants to the finish line to collect his first Ultra4 USA victory.
“We did not expect to be on top of the box, especially with the Broncos here, but it’s awesome and it feels great,” Pinillos said. “I lost all communication with my pits on lap one, so I didn’t know what was going on. So the whole time, I thought I was in second place. And then I crossed the finish line and my brother came running up and said, ‘You made it, you’re first!'”
Prior to his start at Visions Off-Road, Pinillos had only raced King of the Hammers.
