With unfavorable forecasts and plummeting temperatures ahead, weekend cancelations are again running rampant this weekend. Here is an updated list of what weekly series and other significant events have been postponed.

Rockford Spring Classic Postponed To Sunday
With temperatures hovering just above freezing and with the continual threat of snow showers into the afternoon and early evening on Saturday, Rockford Speedway officials have postponed the 46th annual Spring Classic until Sunday.
A full program is set for Sunday, including the Big 8 Late Model Series, Mid Am Racing Series and the Bandit Blast.
Heavy Rains Postpone Port Royal Spring Thaw
With forecasts expecting heavy rains throughout the night, Port Royal Speedway has postponed Saturday’s Mike Cleck Paving & Sealcoating, Inc. Spring Thaw event.
The $10,000-to-win event will now be held next Saturday, April 29, along with the PennsValley MeatMarket PA Sprint Series 305 Sprint Cars and the USAC East Coast Sprint Cars.
Fremont Forced To Cancel
Rain throughout Friday and Saturday morning coupled with cold temperatures forecasted for the evening have force Fremont Speedway officials to cancel Saturday’s action.
“We have heard from several race teams who indicated the risk of running in the colder temperatures wasn’t financially sound for them,” said Fremont Speedway Committee Chair Ryan Schiets. “It just isn’t financially viable for the teams or the track to risk. We hope things warm up and dry out this week so we can race next Saturday.”
Fremont Speedway will try again next week, April 29, for the Johnny Auxter Opening Night with support from the Pub 400, Fort Ball Pizza Palace and Custom Metal Works.
Grandview Speedway Cancels Saturday Night Action
For the third time in four scheduled Saturday night events this season at Grandview Speedway, weather has caused the cancellation of racing action on Saturday night.
Grandview Speedway released a statement following the news.
“Management felt it was best to give an early notice to everyone, since the predicted weather was not just a quick moving line of thunderstorms, but rather a system of rain and thunderstorms that was predicted to last for several hours, giving no window to complete the show.”
Saturday Night Program Rained Out At South Boston Speedway
Due to weather forecasts calling for persistent rain and severe weather in the region during the afternoon and evening on Saturday, South Boston Speedway officials have canceled Saturday night’s six-race Viny’s Italian Restaurant Race Night event.
“We made this decision early in an effort to save our loyal fans and competitors the time, effort and expense of making the trip here to South Boston Speedway and then likely not being able to hold the event due to the weather,” South Boston Speedway general manager Chase Brashears explained. “We never like to cancel an event early, but we feel making an early decision with regard to this event is in everyone’s best interest.”
The next event at South Boston Speedway will be the God’s Pit Crew Night Race event on Saturday, May 6.
IndyCar Cancels Day Two Of Indy 500 Open Test At IMS
Steady rain and temperatures in the 40s have led NTT IndyCar Series officials to cancel today’s second day of the Indianapolis 500 Open Test. IndyCar has ruled the Open Test complete, so teams can clear out of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and return to their shops.
Teams will return to IMS on Friday, May 12, for practice and qualifying ahead of the GMR Grand Prix on Saturday, May 13, on the IMS road course.
Attica Raceway Park Cancels April 21 Date
A forecast of rain throughout the day Friday, April 21, has forced Attica Raceway Park officials to cancel racing.
Attica will be back in action Friday, April 28, on Baumann Auto Group/Craig Miller Trucking/Bucyrus Road Materials Night. The All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/Kistler Racing Products 410 Attica Fremont Championship Series presented by the Baumann Auto Group will battle for $4,000-to-win.
The Dirt Nerds Podcast/Propane.com UMP Late Models and the NAPA of Bryan 305 AFCS presented by Jason Dietsch Trailer Sales will also be in competition.
ASCS Cancels Trip To Texarkana 67 Speedway Due To Wet Forecast
After watching the forecast closely over the last few days, it has settled in on rain at Texarkana 67 Speedway on Friday, April 21, forcing officials to call off action with the American Sprint Car Series and ASCS Mid-South Region.
The series will instead kick off its season on Thursday night at Jackson Motor Speedway and will continue the weekend at Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, La., on Saturday, April 22.
Knoxville Visit Canceled For World Of Outlaw Sprints
With an outlook of plummeting temperatures and wind chills below freezing this weekend, World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series officials together with Knoxville Raceway staff have canceled the Xtream powered by Mediacom Showdown.
The World of Outlaws now turns its attention to the next weekend’s Illinois, Indiana doubleheader at Tri-City Speedway on April 28 and Tri-State Speedway on April 29.
Kokomo Grand Prix Is A Wash For USAC Midgets
The Kokomo Grand Prix, scheduled for Friday and Saturday night, April 21-22, has been canceled. The cancellation comes due to forecasted cold weather that calls for temperatures in the high 30s and low 40s along with a high chance of precipitation during both nights of the event at Indiana’s Kokomo Speedway.
The Kokomo Grand Prix will not be rescheduled this season.
Lucas Oil LM Doubleheader At Tri-City & Macon Speedway Canceled
The forecast for rain on Thursday and Friday, followed by extremely cold temperatures on Saturday has forced track and Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series officials to cancel this weekend’s doubleheader at Tri-City Speedway and Macon Speedway.
With no suitable make-up dates, neither event will be rescheduled.
Hoosier Hundred Postponed To May 26
Due to forecasted rain and cold temperatures, Sunday’s 70th Anniversary Hoosier Hundred at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park has been postponed to Friday, May 26 — joining the Carb Night Classic presented by Protective Insurance.
As the USAC Silver Crown Series was previously scheduled to run on Carb Night, the Hoosier Hundred will now become a points-paying Silver Crown race and remain at the 100-mile, 146-lap distance, featuring a winner’s share of $25,000 and a total purse of $92,000.
