It’s time for a new edition of SPEED SPORT Power Rankings. Who will be on top this week?
1. Austin Prock
Austin Prock was the top qualifier for the 14th time this season and went on to win the penultimate Funny Car race of the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It was his eighth win of the season and positioned Prock to secure the title during the season finale. Last Week: 5
2. Bobby Pierce
Dirt late model racer Bobby Pierce enters this weekend’s World of Outlaws World Finals with 37 victories, including many of the annual crown-jewel events on the calendar. Last Week: 1
3. Carson Macedo
Carson Macedo is second in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series standings entering the World of Outlaws World Finals with 11 victories this season. Last Week: 2
4. Brad Sweet
Brad Sweet won three races in a row during the final week of High Limit Racing competition and secured the series championship Saturday Texas Motor Speedway. Sweet won 10 High Limit features this year. Last Week: 3
5. Stewart Friesen
Stewart Friesen continued a late-season charge on the dirt with a Short Track Super Series triumph at Georgetown (Del.) Speedway. Friesen won the Billy Whitaker 200 and the Eastern States 200 in October. Last Week: 6
6. Buddy Kofoid
Buddy Kofoid’s late-season charge hit a speed bump at Riverside Int’l Speedway, but he’s still finished on the podium in 12 of the past 15 races and won seven features. Last Week: 5
7. Ryan Blaney
Reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney secured his way into the Championship 4 at Phoenix Raceway by winning at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway for the second consecutive October. It was his third win of the season. Last Week: Not Ranked
8. Aaron Stanfield
Aaron Stanfield grabbed the NHRA Pro Stock point lead with one race remaining after collecting his sixth victory of the season Monday afternoon at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Last Week: Not Ranked.
9. Matt Hirschman
Asphalt modified racer Matt Hirschman, who won the Race of Champions earlier this fall, captured the season finale for the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series, securing his ninth title in the series. Last Week: Not Ranked
10. Logan Seavey
Logan Seavey collected the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Championship on the strength of 14 victories in the season. He’s now won all three USAC national series titles during his career. Last Week: 8
On The Rise: Reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney has a chance to secure back-to-back championships Sunday at Phoenix Raceway.
