Power Rankings: Larson Keeps Rising, Erb Dropped

It’s time for a new edition of SPEED SPORT Power Rankings. Who will be on top this week?

1. Bobby Pierce

Bobby Pierce captured the USA Nationals for the second time in his career Saturday at Cedar Lake Speedway and also won a preliminary feature on Friday. Pierce has won 26 dirt late model features this season. Last Week: 1

2. Kyle Larson

NASCAR Cup Series point leader Kyle Larson, who owns four Cup Series victories, swept a pair of World of Outlaws features at I-55 Raceway. He’s also won three High Limit features and an Xfinity Series race this season.

3. David Gravel

World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series point leader David Gravel owns 13 WoO triumphs and 14 overall victories heading into the Knoxville Nationals. Last Week: 2

4. Logan Seavey

Logan Seavey won a trio of Indiana Sprint Week features en route to the series title. He’s won 13 USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car Series features this season. Last Week: 3

5. Tyler Courtney

Tyler Courtney banked $30,000 for winning the Knoxville 360 Nationals Saturday at Knoxville Raceway. Courtney has also won nine 410 winged sprint car races this season. Last Week: Not Ranked

6. Stewart Friesen

Stewart Friesen has won 17 features this season, including one in an ESS sprint car. Last Week: 5

7. Austin Prock

While Austin Prock lost in the semifinals at Sonoma Raceway last month, he stretched his point lead in the NHRA Funny Car division after earning top qualifier honors. He’s won four races this season. Last Week: 6

8. Rico Abreu

Rico Abreu earned $13,000 for winning Sunday night’s Capitani Classic at Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway. Abreu has won seven features this season, including four with High Limit Racing and two with the World of Outlaws. Last Week: Not Ranked

9. Aaron Stanfield

Aaron Stanfield earned his third NHRA Pro Stock triumph in the past four races during the series’ last event at California’s Sonoma Raceway. Last Week: 8

10. Ricky Thornton Jr.

Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point leader Ricky Thornton Jr. has won 21 dirt late model features this season. Last Week: 8
