BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The West Coast Stock Car/Motorsports Hall of Fame has appointed 2014 NASCAR Cup Series champion and FOX Sports analyst Kevin Harvick to its Board of Directors. Harvick is a 2023 inductee into the West Coast Stock Car/Motorsports Hall of Fame.
“Having Kevin Harvick come aboard as a director is one of the most significant steps forward the West Coast Stock Car/Motorsports Hall of Fame has experienced in its 23 years,” said Ken Clapp, Chairman and CEO of the West Coast Stock Car/Motorsports Hall of Fame. “Kevin is a longtime friend and has taken a huge interest in advancing racing on the West Coast going forward. The board members are honored to have him join us.”
Harvick, a native of Bakersfield, Calif., grew up racing go-karts; won his first late model championship at the old Mesa Marin Raceway at age 17 and captured NASCAR Elite Series Southwest Series and NASCAR ARCA Menards Series West titles before joining the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series where he won 14 times.
Racing for Richard Childress Racing and Stewart-Haas Racing, Harvick notched 60 NASCAR Cup Series wins, 10th on the premier series all-time list. He earned the 2001 and 2006 Xfinity Series championships on the strength of 47 series wins, one of only three drivers to earn both a Cup and Xfinity Series championship.
The 2007 Daytona 500 winner advanced to the Championship 4 five times and is one of only four drivers to win all four of NASCAR’s crown jewel events: the Daytona 500, the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Southern 500 at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway.
Harvick retired from driving at the conclusion of the 2023 season and joined FOX Sports as an analyst, calling Cup Series races alongside Mike Joy and former teammate Clint Bowyer beginning with the 2024 season.
