H1 Unlimited Holds Beneficial Test Day

TRI-CITIES, Wash. — H1 Unlimited teams gathered on the banks of the Columbia River for a day long test session Frida that was designed to gather valuable data ahead of the season-opener in Guntersville, Ala., on June 24.

The eight teams attending the test session were U-1 – Miss HomeStreet, Dylan Runne, U-8 – Beacon Electric, J. Michael Kelly, U-9 – Beacon Plumbing, Corey Peabody, U-11 – Legend Yacht Transport, Jamie Nilsen, U-21 – Lakeridge Paving, Gunnar O’Farrell, U-40 – Bucket List Racing, Dustin Echols, U-91 – Miss Goodman Real Estate, Andrew Tate and U-440 – Boitano Homes, Brent Hall.

Dylan Runne in the U-1 Miss HomeStreet set the top speed of the day, with a fastest lap of 163.155 mph.

Corey Peabody’s U-9 Beacon Plumbing followed at 162.338 mph, J. Michael Kelly in the U-8 Beacon Electric was third at 162.194 mph, Andrew Tate in the U-91 Miss Goodman Real Estate was fourth at 160.568 mph and Dustin Echols rounded out the top five in the U-40 Bucket List Racing entry at 159.812 mph.

Gunnar O’ Farrell in the U-21 Lakeridge Paving was next at 155.628 mph and Jamie Nilsen in the U-11 Legend Yacht Transport brought up the tail end at 155.335 mph. Brent Hall’s U-440 Boitano Homes never got off the trailer due to an electrical issue.

During the course of the day, 109 laps were run by all teams and the session ended with less than eight mph covering the entire field, four teams clocking laps over 160 mph and the top five boats separated by less than four mph.

The H1 Unlimited Hydroplane Racing season will kick off June 24 with “Guntersville Lake Hydrofest” from Guntersville, Ala.  All five rounds of the season, including the prestigious Gold Cup from Seattle SeaFair, will air tape-delayed on SPEED SPORT 1.
