F1 Powerboats To Utilize Tixr As Ticketing Platform

ALTON, Ill. — The prestigious Formula One Powerboat Championship heads to Alton, Ill., for the Midwest Nationals — round four of its six-race North American Series.

Established in 2017, the series features weekend-long community events highlighted by 20+ Formula 1 boats reaching speeds of 120 mph.

In addition to the signature F1 class, the event also will feature competition in the Formula Lights, Tri Hull and J Hydro divisions.

Jeremiah Mayo enters the Midwest Nationals as point leader in the F1 powerboat class on the strength of a victory during the Red River Rumble in Shreveport, La. Mayo has a 13-point lead over Dusty Terry, who has collected a pair of third-place finishes this season.

Dylan Anderson, Chris Rinker and Spencer Love round out the top five in the standings and should be considered strong contenders this weekend.

R.J. West posted a victory earlier this season in Port Neches, Texas, but did not start the main event in Louisiana.

U.S. Powerboat racing first began in 1903. Formula One racing for the last five decades, has been recognized as one of the world’s most spectacular racing experiences. The F1 boats reach lightning-quick speeds of 120 mph, make razor-sharp turns and create nonstop challenges for the world-class drivers.

The up close and personal, deck-to-deck competition creates thrills rarely experienced by boat racing fans. Each event is more than a series of one-day events, these races have evolved into the marquee event during weekend long multi-interest community festivals.

The races produce the largest entertainment event in the markets they visit, increase regional awareness and generate tourism dollars for the local economy. More than 20,000 fans are expected at Alton with an estimated $2.5 million economic impact on the region.

As such, managing ticket sales is a crucial aspect of the success in pulling off these events. F1 Powerboat Championships is relying on an innovative new ticketing platform called “Tixr” for all its ticketing needs.

“We chose Tixr as part of our ongoing mission to modernize our business and to grow our engagement with fans at events,” said Tim Seebold, F1 Powerboats CEO. “The great thing is Tixr is not just a ticketing platform — we can manage everything from travel packages, merchandise, camping, even food and beverage. The slick integration with our website has elevated our customer experience.”

Tixr’s cutting-edge ticketing and eCommerce technology has been embraced by several prominent racing organizations, including Progressive American Flat Track races, the historic Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, the international E1 Series, and the adrenaline-fueled Nitrocross circuit, revolutionizing the way fans experience these exhilarating events.

Tixr is the preferred ticketing partner for F1 Powerboat Championship and, in addition to the Midwest Nationals, will serve the “Roar of the Rockies” event in Windsor, Colo., later this summer. Tixr is also serving the Mississippi River Festival — occurring over the same weekend as the Midwest Nationals — creating a can’t-miss destination weekend of Mississippi River culture, fun and hull-to-hull boat racing.

Motorsports is a core vertical for Tixr and with series like the F1 Powerboat Championship joining us, we’re witnessing tremendous growth in this space,” said Tixr Vice President of Sports Nate Liberman. “Promoters like Tim are choosing Tixr because our state-of-the-art e-commerce platform allows fans to seamlessly purchase everything from admission to RV camping and a wide array of onsite amenities. Our unified purchasing experience, coupled with a modern, visually appealing design and exceptional customer service, perfectly caters to the needs of motorsports clients.”
