ZANDVOORT, Netherlands — DTM will make its first trip outside of Germany this weekend to visit Circuit Zandvoort for races three and four of the 16-race season.
The last time the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters series visited the race track in the Dutch dunes was back in 2018. Since then, the Formula 1 circuit has been modified. The most striking spot on the track is the final corner of the 4.259-meter track, turn 14, which is now banked at a gradient of 18 degrees.
Gary Paffett and Rene Rast were the winners the last time the series raced at Zandvoort in 2018.
Catch all of the action with both events streaming live on SPEED SPORT 1’s website. Race one can be viewed at 7:15 a.m. (ET) on Saturday (June 24) morning, with the second race airing at 7:15 a.m. Sunday morning.
The season-opener in Oschersleben proved emphatically that anything is possible in the DTM. Nobody could have predicted the impressive performance of Tim Heinemann (Essen) in the Porsche 911 GT3 R, who travels to Zandvoort as the championship leader after picking up two second places at the opening race weekend.
His teammate Christian Engelhart from Starnberg claimed the first DTM victory of his career in Oschersleben. The 36-year-old is second in the table and travels to the Netherlands full of confidence and hungry for another top result.
The same goes for the man currently third in the Drivers’ Championship, Franck Perera in a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2. The Frenchman made history with SSR Performance in Oschersleben, presenting the Italian car manufacturer with its first success in the DTM.
The Porsche Carrera Cup will also be competing at Circuit Zandvoort and those events will also be streamed live on SPEED SPORT 1. Race one for the Porsche Carrera Cup can be seen 5:35 a.m. (ET) on Saturday morning, with the second race to begin at 5:20 a.m. on Sunday morning.
All of the events can be viewed live on SPEEDSPORT1.com.
