KNOXVILLE, Iowa — The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum will host the groundbreaking of the Dennis Albaugh Suite Tower on Friday, May 31, at 4 p.m. CT.
Media are invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony, which comes at the start of the 34th National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Induction weekend.
The new six-story tower will be a replica of the existing Bryan Clauson Suite Tower. The project was announced last month.
The 12 new suites will go up on the east side of the museum — looking out at turn two of Knoxville Raceway — as a bookend to the facility.
Neumann Brothers will serve as the general contractor for the $6.2 million project.
“It will look like it was meant to be from the beginning,” said Bob Baker, executive director of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum. “It enables our museum and the raceway to welcome more people to Knoxville and the Marion County area.”
More than 20 guests have been on a waiting list for a suite. The premium raceway experience also provides the revenue for the museum to remain open all year.
The Dennis Albaugh Suite Tower is set to be open for the start of the 2025 season at Knoxville next April.
