As in any racing season, 2023 provided plenty of memorable moments.
From first-time winners and broken records, to career milestones and major upsets, there was plenty to unpack over the course of the past 12 months.
Thus, as we count down to a new year and a new season, let’s look back at the statistics that encapsulated many of the sport’s key moments.

19 — Max Verstappen set a single-season record for Formula 1 victories.
$1 Million — Logan Schuchert became the first sprint car driver to win $1 million in a single race when he topped the July 13 Eldora Million at Ohio’s Eldora Speedway.
28 — Kyle Larson notched his 28th USAC national midget series triumph when he won the Turkey Night Grand Prix at California’s Ventura Raceway for the fourth time.
3 — Max Verstappen won each of the Formula 1 races run in the United States.
1,310.94 — Distance in miles covered by competitors competing the 56th Baja 1000.
2.2 — Length in miles of the NASCAR Cup Series’ first street course in Chicago, Ill.
800 — Top Fuel racer Antron Brown surpassed 800 round wins this season. He is only the sixth driver in NHRA history to achieve the benchmark.
$250,000 — Amount earned by David Gravel for winning the High Bank Nationals at Huset’s Speedway in South Dakota.
150 — Brady Bacon became the 150th driver to win a World of Outlaws sprint car feature.
22 — Consecutive moto wins for 450cc class rookie Jett Lawrence during the AMA Pro Motocross season, making him the third rider in series history to have a perfect season.
39 — Finishing position of NASCAR’s Garage 56 entry in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
500 — Owner/driver Brad Keselowski made his 500th NASCAR Cup Series start June 4 at World Wide Technology Raceway.
6 — Donny Schatz won Eldora Speedway’s Kings Royal sprint car race for the sixth time on July 15.
