Verstappen Overcomes Adversity For Fourth Title

Max Verstappen described his season as “up and down” but the Red Bull driver still earned his fourth consecutive Formula 1 world championship.

Verstappen won nine races and captured the title by 63 points over upstart McLaren driver Lando Norris.

“This season as you could see was quite up and down,” said Verstappen e. “We had a great start to the year, everything was looking great. I think especially from the outside, of course, as a team you always understand your limitations and what you want to work on.

“The competition did a great job, they improved their cars a lot and made it a lot more difficult for us – especially in the constructors’.”

In fact, led by Norris, McLaren claimed the coveted constructor’s championship.

Norris won four times, taking runner-up honors in the series.

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc finished third with three victories.

Lewis Hamilton won twice for Mercedes in his final season for Mercedes as he will join Ferrari next season.

Seven different drivers, representing four teams, won races this season.
