Verstappen Leads Practice In Miami

Despite dealing with headrest issues throughout Formula 1’s second practice session on Friday afternoon, Max Verstappen prevailed to take the top spot on the timesheets.

The Red Bull Racing driver set a fast lap of 1 minute, 27.930 seconds around Florida’s Miami International Autodrome. He is the defending winner of the Miami GP, as well as the series points leader heading into the fifth race of the season.

“Most importantly, today we had good balance in the car so I feel happy. There are still a few things we want to look at overnight, ideally we want to be faster on every corner, which isn’t always possible. We’ll have to see what the weather will do tomorrow, but overall it’s been a positive day,” Verstappen said.

Ferrari teammates Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc filed in second and third.

Red Bull’s Sergio Perez and Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso completed the top five.

Lando Norris, Lewis Hamilton, Lance Stroll, Esteban Ocon and Alexander Albon were in the top 10.
