MOGYOROD, Hungary — Lando Norris put his McLaren at the top of the speed charts during Friday’s practice for Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring.
Norris turned a best lap of one minute and 17.788 seconds to best Formula 1 point leader Max Verstappen, who was .243 seconds behind in his Red Bull machine.
Carlos Sainz turned the third best lap for Ferrari, with Verstappen’s teammate Sergio Perez fourth in the second Red Bull.
George Russell was fifth for Mercedes, while Kevin Magnussen put Haas F1 sixth on the day.
Recent British Grand Prix winner Lewis Hamilton was seventh in the second Mercedes.
The session was stopped when Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc crashed in turn four.
