CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Podium eSports has secured media rights to the upcoming IceBox Pickup Throwdown iRacing Truck Series.
Racing begins on April 23 and broadcasts of the series will air Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on the Podium eSports Twitch channel, as well as on Eric Estepp’s YouTube channel.
The IceBox Pickup Throwdown iRacing Truck Series is a five-week series that will feature real-world NASCAR XFINITY Series and NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series drivers competing in iRacing’s Class C trucks.
The series is intended to help drivers support fellow drivers and teams, and was developed by Jordan Anderson of Jordan Anderson Racing and Tim Self of AM Racing.
“We’re all just so ready to get back out racing again,” said Anderson, one of the more prominent driver-owners in the Truck Series garage area. “As soon as I started talking to the other folks in the garage, it all just came together. I can’t wait to show the fans at home what we’ve put together.”
The champion of the five-week series will win cash prizes and a special championship prize from IceBox Helmet Coolers. Cash prizes will also be available for individual race winners and pole winners.
“I know what goes into keeping these race teams humming, and it starts with getting these trucks back on the track,” said Tim Self, the CEO of IceBox Helmet Coolers. “Whether it’s virtually or in real life, I think we’re all excited to get these names going fast in front of a crowd again.”
All races of the IceBox Pickup Throwdown iRacing Truck Series will be simulcars live on Eric Estepp’s Out of the Groovechannel. Estepp is the No. 1 NASCAR content creator on YouTube, and his channel has more than 100,000 subscribers.
Out of the Groove will also host the IceBox Pickup Throwdown iRacing Truck Series Pre-Race Show, which will air on the YouTube channel at 7:30 p.m. ET before each race.
“The trucks are often the best show of the weekend during the real racing season,” said Estepp. “I’m extremely excited for those drivers to have their own dedicated iRacing series to give their passionate fans something to look forward to.”
