There are way too many reasons today for your cell phone to never leave your hand. And, if you are a sprint car fan there are multitudes of apps to use.
There are way too many reasons today for your cell phone to never leave your hand. And, if you are a sprint car fan, there are multitudes of apps to keep up with.
On race nights you can check out real-time scoring with MyLaps and Race Monitor. You have all of the social media apps to follow for results, news and photos posted instantly as it is happening. You can look at loads of photos at all of the photo hosting and sharing sites.
You can watch almost any race in the country live on one of the video streaming services or stream archived videos from years past. There are also many podcasts to listen to or view.
If you can actually find time to use all of these apps on your phone (plus talk on it occasionally) and have a little time left, there is something else new you can use your phone for now.
Many people play games on their phone, some when they are bored waiting somewhere and some are gamers who play more often. Well, now there is a sprint car racing game for your phone called Dirt Trackin Sprint Cars.
The first game by Bennett Racing Simulations LLC was published a few years ago and called Dirt Trackin. It sold for $2.99 and was made for Android or Apple phones and downloadable through the app stores. They listened to the fans using the game and created Dirt Trackin 2 with all new upgrades and sold it for $3.99.
Recently, at the request of all of the sprint car fans, they came out with this new game: Dirt Trackin Sprint Cars. The game is free, but you do have pop-up ads.
I‘m not much of a game person anymore, especially when it comes to trying to control a sprint car on my cell phone. They do give you three different ways of controlling the car, but I wasn‘t very good at any of them. I don‘t have the flying thumbs you need for fast cellphone play and the arrow controls.
There is also a virtual-touch steering wheel control, but I used the phone tilt control.
The look of the game is very nice with lots of features. You can drive a 410 winged sprint, non-winged sprint or midget. There are six different fictional tracks with real world drivers in all three classes.
You pick your time of day to race — either day, dusk or at night under the lights.
You can play the game in four different modes: hot laps, single-player, multiplayer or career mode. I really needed the hot laps mode just to get the controls figured out. In multiplayer mode you can race your friends. In career mode you race your way from the United States to Australia, and must win each series to advance to the next.
In short, you can have a sprint car career on your phone.
No matter which mode you choose, you can track your stats throughout your racing career and track your overall skill progress. The designers of this game have been listening to the users and adapting their input to make the game better within the operating system and memory of a cellphone. It should only continue to get better as technology increases.
So, now if you haven‘t already found enough things to do with your phone, you can play a pretty cool sprint car game on it.
