Citroën has confirmed it will enter the World Touring Car Championship starting next year with star driver Sébastien Loeb leading the charge.
Loeb is the winner of nine World Rally Championships and has been linked to Citroën since last year.
This will be a new challenge for both parties. Loeb will be driving one of at least two cars entered by the automaker in 2014.
Citroën’s entry into the world of track racing will coincide with the introduction of a new generation of cars. That should level the playing field for the new WTCC squad.
Citroën hasn’t yet revealed which of its cars it will use for the WTCC.
