POMONA, Calif. — Since 2000 the fall off-road season has been kicked into high gear by the annual Lucas Oil Off Road Expo powered by General Tire.
Held at the historic Fairplex in Pomona, Calif., the 2012 version maintained that vibrant tradition as nearly 60,000 off-road enthusiasts converged upon the two-day Expo to see the latest in equipment, accessories and high-tech machinery displayed in 10 acres by more than 300 vendors.
Organized by Family Events of Indianapolis, Ind., and titled sponsored by Lucas Oil, the Off Road Expo is the largest and most influential off road consumer show in the country, along with serving as an important, “can’t miss” industry gathering as well.
A major attraction enjoyed by tens of thousands of expo attendees was the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series demonstration course located within the event’s primary traffic corridor. Managed by the Lucas series’ Ken Johnson, the special display featured two large dirt jumps within a concrete arena that allowed several prominent LOORRS racers the chance to provide fans a wild, tire-smoking, race car-leaping showcase of what short course racing is all about.
As an adjunct to the Team Lucas promotional and events platform, the LOORRS area was adjacent to major displays by Team Lucas corporate partners General Tire, Magnaflow, MAVTV/American Real and Toyota. Additional exposure signage included Geico, 1-800 LoanMart, Canidae Dog Food, Optima Battery and E3 Spark Plugs.
“For a company with the history and commitment we have for the off-road motorsports and enthusiast market around the country, holding the title sponsorship of the prestigious Lucas Oil Off Road Expo makes this a cornerstone event in our annual calendar,” explained Lucas Oil Executive Vice President Bob Patison. “The Hubley family and their staff at Family Events has done an admirable job in growing Expo weekend to a new level. By the looks of this year’s event they are achieving that objective. We are proud to be part of that growth.”
