MOORESVILLE, N.C. – JR Motorsports has signed a multi-race sponsorship agreement with TMC Transportation, an employee-owned open deck transportation company.
TMC Transportation will sponsor the NASCAR XFINITY Series No. 5 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Michael Annett in multiple events, beginning with the race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 22.
Headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa, TMC Transportation provides expert transportation services and supply-chain management solutions throughout the 48 contiguous states. TMC Transportation joins Pilot Flying J as primary partners for Annett and the No. 5 team in 2017.
“We’re proud to be able to announce the addition of TMC to JR Motorsports and our No. 5 team,” said Kelley Earnhardt Miller, general manager of JR Motorsports. “TMC is no stranger to our sport, and we want to focus on building a strong and sustainable partnership with them in the Xfinity Series. We’re looking ahead to seeing Michael compete on track with TMC later this season.”
Annett, also a native of Des Moines, is competing in his ninth full-time season in NASCAR, and first with JR Motorsports. He is currently 12th in the XFINITY Series point standings following last weekend’s race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
“We’re looking forward to continuing our partnership with Michael as he competes for the championship in the NASCAR XFINITY Series,” said Jason Webb, TMC’s executive vice president, Asset Management. “It is even more exciting now that he is driving for JR Motorsports, one of the most successful race teams in NASCAR.”
This is far from TMC’s first foray into motorsports. TMC previously sponsored Annett in a pair of events in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and also sponsored legendary sprint car driver Sammy Swindell in the early 1990s.
