Silverton Casino Backing Williams In Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – The Silverton Casino of Las Vegas has joined DGM Racing to back Josh Williams during Saturday’s Rhino Pro Truck Outfitters 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

This will be the first time that Silverton Casino has backed Williams in NASCAR Xfinity Series action.

Silverton Casino offers 300 deluxe rooms and suites and world-class amenities all located within an upscale, contemporary luxury lodge-themed resort.

Silverton Casino is home to a variety of restaurants and dining options, including Seasons Buffet, 24-hour Sundance Grill, Shady Grove Lounge, Twin Creeks Steakhouse, Mi Casa Grill Cantina, WuHu Noodle and Starbucks.

In addition, Silverton Casino offers 90,000 square feet of gaming, with more than 1,500 slot machines, 23 table games and the Mermaid Restaurant & Lounge.

The property features a 117,000-gallon saltwater aquarium with more than 4,000 sharks, stingrays, and tropical fish, which was voted “Best Attraction” by Las Vegas Review Journal’s Best of Las Vegas.

Williams will take part in a meet-and-greet for guests and fans on Friday night, Sept. 13 in front of the aquarium attraction, beginning at 6 p.m. local time.

“Silverton Casino is excited to work with, and cheer on, Josh Williams and his whole team as we kick off another electrifying NASCAR weekend in Las Vegas,” said Silverton Casino President Rob Kunkle.

Williams has plenty of reason to be optimistic as he returns to the 1.5-mile Las Vegas oval, as it was the site of what was – at the time – his career-best finish in Xfinity Series action.

The Port Charlotte, Fla., racer was 16th during the Xfinity Series stop at Las Vegas in March, the third time in a row he’d reset his high-water mark at the Sin City facility.

Since then, Williams has scored his maiden top-10 finish in the Xfinity Series, coming home eighth at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway in late April. He currently sits 17th in the series standings.

All told, Williams is having a career year, with four top-15 finishes to his credit in 24 starts this season.

“I’m not sure what it is, because I’m definitely not lucky when I go to Vegas, but we bring really good race cars to the race track each time we’re there and we’ve proven that Mario (Gosselin) has really put a lot of time and effort into his mile-and-a-half program,” Williams said. “I feel like I’ve got a pretty good feel for Vegas, too, with how the races play out there and how the lane changes throughout the race.

“To bring on a new partner this weekend in Silverton Casino and to go back to a place where we’ve consistently run well, I’ve got high hopes for this weekend that we can really make some noise.”
