Justin Allgaier Released From Hospital

SPARTA, Ky. – JR Motorsports has confirmed that driver Justin Allgaier has been released from the hospital following an incident on the final lap of Thursday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Kentucky Speedway.

JR Motorsports confirmed the news in a tweet posted to the team’s Twitter account.

“Justin Allgaier was treated and released from a local hospital early this morning for non-racing related medical purposes following last night’s event at Kentucky Speedway,” the tweet read. “He will undergo further evaluation today before being cleared to race.”

Allgaier was involved in a multi-car accident on the final lap of the Shady Rays 200 that also included the cars driven by Ronnie Bassett Jr. and Timmy Hill. Bassett and Hill were both checked and released from the infield care center following the incident.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series is back on track at Kentucky Speedway on Friday for the Alsco 300.
