Chastain To Lead Richmond Xfinity Field To Green

RICHMOND, Va. – Ross Chastain and the No. 10 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet will start on the pole for Friday night’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Go Bowling 250 at Richmond Raceway.

Chastain earned the pole based on NASCAR’s performance-based starting grid matrix. He finished second in the series’ last race at Darlington Raceway, ranks third in points and had the second-fastest lap at the 1.366-mile, egg-shaped oval.

Those factors combined to give Chastain a score of 2.35, placing him out front at the three-quarter-mile, D-shaped Richmond oval for the penultimate weekend of the regular season.

Richmond will host a pair of Xfinity Series races, one on Friday and one on Saturday. The lineup for the second race will feature an inversion of the top-15 finishers from Friday, with the rest of the field lining up straight-up from 16th on back based on their finishing order.

Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Brandon Jones and Harrison Burton will start second and third, respectively, on Friday. Noah Gragson and Chase Briscoe fill out the top five.

Sixth through 10th are Ryan Sieg, point leader Austin Cindric, Riley Herbst, Michael Annett and Justin Haley.

All-time Xfinity Series wins leader Kyle Busch starts 29th in his final series start of 2020.
