STEAM CORNERS, Ohio — Marcos Ambrose will wheel a Richard Petty Motorsports machine in the Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series event Aug. 17 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

The announcement was made today while Ambrose joined NASCAR officials at a visit to the Ohio State Capitol in Columbus. Ambrose will drive the No. 9 Stanley Ford and be a teammate to Michael Annett in the No. 43 Pilot Travel Centers Ford.

Ambrose, who will also be competing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup race in Michigan the same weekend, will be making his 76th career NASCAR Nationwide Series start. He is a four-time winner in the series, all on road course circuits. Ambrose has also collected four poles, 16 top-10 and eight top-five finishes. This will be his first race at the Mid-Ohio track.

Last season was the first year that Ambrose did not compete in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. He is now ready to return to the series at its newest track. Seth Barbour will be the crew chief for the team.

“This will be a new challenge for everyone in the Nationwide Series and I’m thankful for Stanley and Richard Petty Motorsports working together to give me this opportunity,” Ambrose said. “I missed racing in the Nationwide Series last season, but Mid-Ohio will be a great way to come back. We have Stanley supporting us the entire weekend and we want to give them a win.”
