JEFFERSON, Ga. — Ty Dillon earned his first NASCAR K&N Pro Series East victory Saturday night at Gresham Motorsports Park when the race leaders spun in front of him.
Series rookie Kevin Swindell started from the pole and led most of the 151-lap event. Late in the race defending series champion Ryan Truex made a run at Swindell, making contact during a restart on lap 138.
Both Swindell and Truex went for a spin as a result, allowing third-place Dillon to slip by and take the lead. He led the final 13 laps to score the victory at the half-mile asphalt oval.
Colt Whitt finished a career-best second ahead of Ryan Gifford, Michael Cherry and Matt Kobyluck.
Darrell Wallace, Jr., who entered the race 33 points behind Truex in the season standings, finished two laps down in 15th, doubling the points deficit to 66 points with two races left this season.
