HAMPTON, Ga. – Former USAC National Midget Series champion Tanner Thorson will enter 12 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races this year for Young’s Motorsports.

Thorson will share the No. 20 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado this year with Daytona 500 winner Austin Dillon, Ty Dillon and Daniel Hemric. The No. 20 will be sponsored by GoShare and fielded through a partnership with Team Dillon.

Thorson, the 2016 USAC National Midget Series champion, will enter 12 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races in the No. 20 Chevrolet Silverado. In addition to the races with Young’s Motorsports, the 21-year-old Minden, Nev., native will continue to compete in the King of the West-NARC Sprint Car Series as well as select midget races with Dooling Hayward Motorsports/Richard Childress Racing.

“I had the pleasure to meet Tanner at our shop last spring,” said Team Principal Tyler Young. “He’s an accomplished dirt racer and has impressed me with his eagerness to learn more about truck racing and our program. My family and I are dedicated to creating an environment to develop the talents of young drivers and are excited to have Tanner join us this season.”

 

Austin Dillon, who the Daytona 500 last Sunday, will drive the No. 20 GoShare.com Chevrolet in Saturday’s Active Pest Control 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway as well as the Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway in May.

Austin’s brother, Ty Dillon, will compete in the No. 20 Chevrolet for two races and NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Daniel Hemric will compete in one race this season.
