Rhodes Keeps Rolling With Vegas Truck Series Pole

LAS VEGAS – Seeking his third consecutive NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory to open the season, ThorSport Racing’s Ben Rhodes will start first in Friday night’s Bucked Up 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Rhodes received the Cometic Gasket Pole Award courtesy of the highest metric score among the 40 trucks entered to compete.

Lap speed is weighted at 15 percent, previous race finish at 25 percent for the driver and owner results and owner points position at 35 percent to calculate the final metric score.

Rhodes earned the pole with a perfect metric score of 1.0, factoring in his win from the Daytona Road Course, the fastest lap from that event and his top seeding in the point standings after two of 22 races this season.

Defending series champion Sheldon Creed will join Rhodes on the front row, with John Hunter Nemechek and three-time titlist Matt Crafton starting third and fourth, respectively.

Christian Eckes fills out the top five, followed by Todd Gilliland, Chandler Smith, Derek Kraus, Stewart Friesen and Carson Hocevar.

Three-time defending Las Vegas Truck Series winner Kyle Busch, making his first start of the season, will roll off 29th in the No. 51 Toyota Tundra.
