Pastrana Returning To NASCAR At Kansas

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Extreme sports star Travis Pastrana is making his return to NASCAR competition for the first time since 2017 during Saturday’s NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series event at Kansas Speedway.

Pastrana, who revealed the news in an Instagram post on Thursday, will drive the No. 40 Plan B Sales Chevrolet Silverado in Saturday’s second Truck Series race of the weekend. Ross Chastain will drive the truck in Friday’s event at the 1.5-mile tri-oval before turning his attention to Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race.

“I always enjoy coming to race in NASCAR, especially the Truck Series,” said Pastrana.  “It’s been fun to watch how this team has grown and progressed over the last couple of years, and I’m excited to get the chance to get back behind the wheel.  A huge thank you to Al Niece, Cody [Efaw] and everyone at Niece Motorsports for this amazing opportunity and all of their hard work.”

Pastrana, who became famous for his appearances and successes in the X Games, briefly raced full-time in NASCAR. He ran the full NASCAR Xfinity Series season for Roush Fenway Racing in 2013, earning four top-10 finishes and one pole.

He last raced in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series in 2017, finishing 22nd at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. That was also his last start in NASCAR prior to Saturday’s race at Kansas Speedway.
