McDonald’s Backing Oswego Modified Tour Race Again

OSWEGO, N.Y. – McDonald’s Restaurants has returned as the presenting sponsor for this year’s NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Toyota Mod Classic 150 at Oswego Speedway.

The NASCAR modified event, set for Saturday, Aug. 31, has been a staple of the five-eighths-mile oval’s schedule for the past three years and returns this season for a fourth consecutive appearance during Budweiser Classic Weekend.

Toyota and McDonald’s have combined to present the action for all four years.

“We’re thankful for the continued support from McDonald’s for our NASCAR Modified Tour event,” said track owner John Torrese. “We’ve enjoyed partnering with McDonald’s for appearances throughout Classic Week and look forward to doing so again this season.”

This August, Oswego Speedway will again display several race cars, plus the Burritt Motors Chevrolet Pace Truck at the Oswego East Side McDonald’s at 264 State Route 104.

The event will take place during Budweiser Classic Week on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

McDonald’s will also have a presence at the Toyota Mod Classic itself, as the ‘Hamburglar’ will be attending the driver autograph session on the front straightaway, going through the grandstands to visit fans, and also greeting the race winner in victory lane.

In its first three years, the Toyota Mod Classic 150 has seen three different winners, with Doug Coby (2016), Ryan Preece (2017) and Matt Hirschman (2018) each gracing victory lane during that span.
