RICHMOND, Va. – Ben Rhodes will chase his third NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win of the season from the pole during Saturday’s ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond Raceway.
Rhodes received the Cometic Gasket Pole Award courtesy of the highest metric score among the 40 trucks entered to compete.
Lap speed is weighted at 15 percent, previous race finish at 25 percent for the driver and owner results and owner points position at 35 percent to calculate the final metric score.
Rhodes earned the pole with a metric score of 3.85, factoring in his runner-up finish from the recent dirt race at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway, the 12th-fastest lap from that event and his third-place seeding in the owner point standings after five of 22 races this season.
Rhodes led a Toyota sweep of the top four starting positions for the Richmond Truck Series race, with Austin Hill, Grant Enfinger and Stewart Friesen filling out the front two rows.
Raphael Lessard rolls off fifth, followed by Zane Smith, Matt Crafton, Todd Gilliland, Sheldon Creed and Austin Wayne Self.
All-time Truck Series wins leader Kyle Busch starts 12th in pursuit of his second win of the season.
