MOORESVILLE, N.C. – David Reutimann will drive the No. 51 Phoenix Racing Chevrolet in place of suspended driver Kurt Busch this weekend in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pa.
Reutimann was originally scheduled to drive the No. 10 Tommy Baldwin Racing Chevrolet, but Baldwin worked out a deal with Phoenix Racing owner James Finch to allow Reutimann to drive the No. 51 Chevrolet this weekend.
Dave Blaney, who usually drives TBR’s No. 36, will instead drive the No. 10 in place of Reutimann. Tony Raines will drive the No. 36 Chevrolet.
“I understand the position James was put in this week,” said Tommy Baldwin, team owner of Tommy Baldwin Racing. “As an owner of a small team, I wanted to help him out. We talked and thought that this lineup would be best for both of our teams.”
Finch was forced to seek out a replacement driver when Busch was suspended by NASCAR until June 13 after Busch issued a verbal threat to a reporter at Dover (Del.) Int’l Speedway following the NASCAR Nationwide Series event there June 2.
