Penske Racing Names Darlington Substitutes


DARLINGTON, S.C. — Because of several team members serving NASCAR suspensions this weekend at Darlington Raceway, Penske Racing has announced several personnel changes for Saturday’s Bojangles’ Southern 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race.

Mike Nelson, currently Vice President of Operations, will serve as team manager for both the No. 2 and No. 22 Sprint Cup cars.

Kevin Buskirk will serve as crew chief for Brad Keselowski’s No. 2 with Jonathan Hassler as race engineer and Nick Hensley as car chief.

Steve Reis will be crew chief for Joey Logano’s No. 22, while Ben Atkins will act as race engineer and Jeffery Thousand as car chief.

Greg Erwin, who is Sam Hornish’s crew chief in the Nationwide Series will be race strategist for Logano.
