It’s reasonable to say that no single driver dominated the NASCAR Xfinity Series season in 2023, but Cole Custer made the right moves when it mattered most.
With his victory at the Nov. 4 finale at Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway, Custer locked his name into the record books as an Xfinity Series champion. It was his first career title, and the first for Stewart-Haas Racing.
During the 33-race season, Custer won three races.
Other winners included Austin Hill, John Hunter Nemechek, Sammy Smith, A.J. Allmendinger, Chandler Smith, Jeb Burton, Ryan Truex, Kyle Larson, Justin Allgaier, Aric Almirola, Sam Mayer, Ty Gibbs, Denny Hamlin and Riley Herbst.
Custer, Allgaier, Mayer and Nemechek were the top four in the point standings.
