Shane van Gisbergen’s biggest struggle in adjusting to the NASCAR Xfinity Series has been learning the “skew” of the cars on the circuit’s oval tracks.
While his instincts — naturally acquired over the 30 years he’s been racing — are telling his brain that he’s spinning out, the reality is that there’s enough side force to keep his No. 97 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet locked down on the pavement.
He explained more in a press conference at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway on Friday afternoon.
