Kyle Busch Secures Pole For COTA Xfinity Race

AUSTIN, Texas – Kyle Busch, making his first NASCAR Xfinity Series start of the season, qualified on the pole for Saturday afternoon’s Pit Boss Grills 250 at Circuit of the Americas.

Amid a persistent rain storm at the 3.410-mile road course, Busch was able to navigate the 20-turn course in 2:40.349 to claim his 69th Xfinity Series pole aboard the No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.

Busch will be attempting to earn his 98th Xfinity Series victory Saturday to extend his all-time victory record in the series.

RESULTS: Pit Boss Grills 250 Qualifying

Ross Chastain, who was a late addition to the field aboard the No. 07 SS Greenlight Racing Chevrolet in place of regular driver Joe Graf Jr., qualified second at 2:40.457 to join Busch on the front row for Saturday afternoon’s race.

Cole Custer, making his first Xfinity Series start since 2019, qualified third in a car jointly entered by Stewart-Haas Racing and Rick Ware Racing. Alex Labbe qualified a strong fourth for DGM Racing, with two-time Xfinity Series champion Tyler Reddick qualifying fifth for Jordan Anderson Racing.

Forty-three competitors attempted to qualify for the 36-car field. Jeffrey Earnhardt, Jesse Little, Kyle Weatherman, Stephen Leicht, Josh Williams, Caesar Bacarella and Bayley Currey failed to qualify.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series Pit Boss Grills 250 is scheduled to begin shortly after 4 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on FS1.
