MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Kris Wright will become the new driver of the No. 68 Brandbilt Motorsports Chevrolet, beginning next weekend in the NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International on Saturday, August 20.
Wright joins BMS with experience in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with 34 starts, 17 ARCA Menards Series starts, and seven NASCAR Xfinity Series starts between 2020 and 2022.
Wright’s resume includes a podium finish in the LMP2 class (second place) and seventh overall in the 2019 Rolex 24 at the Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.
“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to be back in the NASCAR Xfinity Series garage, and surrounded by a great team, Brandonbilt Motorsports,” Wright said. “The team has been super helpful in trying to acclimate me into the No. 68 Chevrolet Camaro for the majority of the remainder of the 2022 season. Looking forward to seeing the fans at Watkins Glen.”
Wright will race nine events during the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series season including at the Darlington (S.C.) Raceway, Kansas Speedway, Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL, Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway, Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway, Martinsville (Va.) Speedway and the Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway.
