LEXINGTON, N.C. – Justin Haley will be back in the saddle this weekend for Kaulig Racing as the NASCAR Xfinity Series heads to Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, for the Pit Boss 250.
Haley, who was sidelined last weekend due to COVID-19 protocols, will return to the seat of the No. 11 Chevrolet Camaro and continue his quest for the Xfinity Series championship. NASCAR revealed over the weekend that Haley has received a playoff waiver for the race he missed.
Kaulig Racing officials released a statement late Wednesday morning confirming the news.
“Following his absence at Dover Int’l Speedway due to NASCAR’s COVID-19 protocols, Justin Haley has been medically cleared to return to competition for this weekend’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Circuit of the Americas,” the statement read. “Kaulig Racing is looking forward to having Justin back in the No. 11 LeafFilter Gutter Protection Chevrolet, as the team continues to compete for the 2021 Xfinity Series championship.”
Haley is a three-time winner in Xfinity Series competition, with all three of those victories coming last season in his second full year with the Matt Kaulig-owned team. Across 78 Xfinity Series starts, Haley has 14 top-five and 47 top-10 finishes.
In nine races this season, Haley sits eighth in the Xfinity Series driver standings on the strength of six top-10 finishes. His season-best run of sixth came at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway on Feb. 27.
Saturday’s Pit Boss 250, the 11th race of the Xfinity Series season, is slated for a 4 p.m. ET start with live coverage on FS1, the Performance Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
