Cole Custer topped the time charts at Arizona’s Phoenix Raceway in his No. 00 Ford during the NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying session on Saturday morning.
With a 27.701-second lap at 129.959 mph, the Stewart-Haas Racing driver secured pole position for Saturday afternoon’s United Rentals 200.
JR Motorsports’ Justin Allgaier qualified second in his No. 7 Chevrolet with a fast lap of 27.755 seconds at 129.706 mph.
Kaulig Racing’s Daniel Hemric, Joe Gibbs Racing’s John Hunter Nemechek and Richard Childress Racing’s Sheldon Creed completed the top five.
Last week’s winner Austin Hill qualified eighth in his No. 21 Chevrolet.
