Custer Tops Xfinity Series Qualifying At Martinsville

Stewart-Haas Racing’s Cole Custer topped the timesheets during NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway on Friday evening.   

He turned a fast lap of 20.057 seconds in the No. 00 Ford.

Joe Gibbs Racing’s John Hunter Nemechek qualified second, with a fast lap of 20.074 seconds in the No. 20 Toyota. The two will start from the front row in Saturday’s Call811.Com Before You Dig 250.

Richard Childress Racing’s Sheldon Creed and Jordan Anderson Racing’s Parker Retzlaff will share the second row, after qualifying third and fourth respectively. JR Motorsports’ Sam Mayer was fifth, while teammate Josh Berry was sixth. Sammy Smith, Justin Allgaier, Riley Herbst and Brandon Jones completed the top 10.

The 38-car Xfinity Series field will take the green on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. (ET).
