Cole Custer has signed a contract extension with Stewart-Haas Racing to remain in the No. 00 Ford for the 2024 season.
The team announced the deal via X on Thursday morning.
The 25-year-old is on the cusp of winning his first NASCAR Xfinity Series title, as he is set to join Championship 4 rivals Sam Mayer, John Hunter Nemechek and Justin Allgaier in the season finale at Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway on Saturday.
Custer has won two races this year, posting 13 top fives and 20 top 10s.
“I think I’m to the point now where you’re to your max. You’re 25 years old and you’ve learned. You’ve been down. You’ve been up. You’ve learned from your mistakes and I think you’re to your best right now. I feel like I’m racing at my best right now and I feel like we’ve grinded this year and seeing how much we’ve improved has been awesome and being a part of something like that has been awesome for me, so I’m looking forward to it,” Custer said.
The California native has driven for SHR since joining the Xfinity Series full time in 2017.
