Custer On Pole For Xfinity Race At Indy

INDIANAPOLIS — Just an hour after officially announcing his return to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2025, Cole Custer celebrated by winning the pole for Saturday’s Pennzoil 250 Presented by Advance Auto Parts NASCAR Xfinity Series race.

Custer won the pole in the No. 00 Haas Automation Ford with a lap at 167.582 miles per hour around the 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

It’s the 23rd pole of his career in 163 NASCAR Xfinity Series race. It’s also Custer’s fifth pole and 16th top 10 start in 2024, but his first pole in four races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Riley Herbst was second at 166.942 miles per hour in the Monster Energy Ford. It’s Herbst’s 10th top 10 start of 2024 as he makes his IMS debut.

Aric Almirola was third at 166.765 mph in the He Gets Us Toyota. It’s his second top 10 start at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and his fifth in six races this season.

Sam Mayer was fourth in the Huck’s Market Chevrolet at 166.725 mph with Anthony Alfredo rounding out the top five at 166.593 mph in the Dude Mint Chill Chevrolet.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series Pennzoil 250 Presented by Advance Auto Parts from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will be later today.
