MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Corey Heim will pilot Sam Hunt Racing’s No. 26 Toyota GR Supra for multiple races this year in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
Heim’s first start of the season will take place on March 2 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
“I can’t wait to join Sam Hunt Racing again in 2024,” said Heim. “I saw improvement throughout every start I made with SHR in 2023 from top to bottom, including in myself as a driver. That’s really what I’m looking for in a partnership — the constant push to be better, and I know SHR will continue to make that their goal in 2024. It really excites me as a driver to be part of a group like this. I’m looking forward to building this year together and contending for wins.”
The 21-year-old Toyota Racing Development driver collected last year’s regular season championship in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series following three wins, 12 top-five finishes, and 19 top-ten finishes out of 22 starts.
Overall, Heim has five wins in the series, including two wins in 2022. Heim made four Xfinity Series starts last year and was part of SHR’s first double top-10 run at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway in May. Heim is currently piloting the No. 11 Tundra TRD Pro full-time in the Craftsman Truck Series with Tricon Garage.
“Everyone at Sam Hunt Racing is excited to have Corey back with us at an expanded capacity in 2024,” said Sam Hunt, 30-year-old owner of Sam Hunt Racing. “Corey is a young man that I’ve been a vocal believer in for years now, and I know he will be a driver that can grow into a staple of our Xfinity Series program.
“He embraces and believes in our group, and he is willing to put the work in to grow with us and compete at the highest level possible.”
